Meet Alexandria
Meet Alexandria, who dreams of becoming a writer
My name is Alexandria, and last year, September 2020, my mom and I were in a car accident. I received a whiplash injury that left me with a back injury. This happened just a few weeks into my first semester as a junior at California State University, Long Beach.
It took me by surprise and left a long road to healing. While in school, I had physical therapy and took different medications to ease my searing pain, which at times left me tired and other times unable to attend classes. This made life not the best.
I have been limited with my physicality on what I can and cannot do, and limited in finding work. At times this is upsetting and grueling, but regardless, I try my best to look forward and, though the healing process is taking time, know that I will be back to myself eventually. This will not hinder me and my education.
I intend to finish my schooling and obtain my B.A. in English Creative Writing. I am sincerely thankful for The Orion Fund for helping me during this time. It means a great deal.
Thank you, Orion Fund, for being there and helping not just myself but others who need assistance with disability and injuries.
